Professor Calculus forgot to wind up his large wall clock and he had no other means to know the time. There was a clock in his friend's house. So he took a walk to his friend's house which was a couple of miles away. He stayed there for the night and took a walk back to his place in the morning. When he came back he knew how to set his clock. How did he know?
Solution: Clocks can measure time even when they do not show the right time. You just have to wind the clock up. We have to suppose that the journey to the friend and back lasts exactly the same time and the clock at friend's house is showing the correct time. Now there is no problem to figure out the solution, is there?
